Prime Contractor Course - (one day)


Purpose:
Under the OH&S Act a Prime Contractor is required if there are "2 or more employers involved in work at a worksite at the same time". Whenever a municipality hires some contractors to work for them, as owners, they will be the prime contractor at a work site. However they have the option of transferring the prime contractor responsibilities to another party at the worksite. This course will teach participants what is required of a prime contractor and how to manage these responsibilities. It will also explain expectations of municipalities who opt to transfer prime contractor responsibilities.

Method:
Classroom instruction, group discussion, scenario exercise.

Prerequisites:
None.

Participants:
Site designates, managers, health & safety coordinators.

Duration:
1 Day.
The course will run from 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM.

MINIMUM FEE to run a class with less than 10 participants: $500. Maximum class size: 20.
